Zenith Aircraft returns to Florida in November

Zenith Aircraft’s popular hands-on kit airplane building workshop is returning to the DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase in Florida next month. Make plans now to join us!
At the Zenith Aircraft workshop tent at the DeLand Showcase in Florida, November 14 -16, visitors can learn more about modern light aircraft assembly and construction as Zenith staff demonstrates the actual assembly of a modern all-metal Zenith kit. Starting on Thursday morning, November 14, staff and volunteers will provide an overview of the fuselage / cabin assembly of the STOL CH 750 Super Duty aircraft kit, putting together the entire fuselage to demonstrate the ease of assembly made possible with final hole size match-drilled assemblies.

Visitors are welcome to observe and participate in the fuselage assembly, learning about kit construction techniques and required tools and skills. Zenith Aircraft staff will be on hand to answer any additional questions about building and flying your own Zenith, or register and build their own rudder as a workshop participant:
On Friday morning, November 15, Zenith is bringing its famous hands-on kit aircraft building workshop to the DeLand Showcase: Zenith workshops are aimed at the first-time amateur builder and have become popular with sport aviation enthusiasts who are considering to build their own aircraft yet are unsure if they have the required skills, work-space and tools. During the workshop each participant builds and assembles their own Zenith aircraft rudder tail section from a standard kit, and concludes on Saturday, November 16. Also on Saturday, Zenith staff will provide additional educational demonstrations on light aircraft construction and assembly, providing more hands-on opportunities.
Participating in the workshop at the DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase makes an excellent getaway for you and your spouse or a friend. Spend a couple productive days learning to build your own airplane, meet with fellow aviation enthusiasts, and visit the DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase in central Florida (conveniently located between Orlando and Daytona Beach). If you’ve already attended a Zenith workshop, share this email with your pilot friends whom you think would enjoy participating at this workshop, and share the Facebook event page.
All Zenith builders and flyers are invited to attend the DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase and to fly-in with their finished Zenith aircraft projects. Come by and visit with Zenith staff, see the planes, and lend a helping hand at the workshop tent. Note: Workshop space is limited. Prior registration is required.
NEW THIS YEAR at the 2019 DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase is a STOL FLYING EXHIBITION! What’s that? Simple: it will be a daily STOL “Demonstration” of each aircraft’s abilities as a Short Take-Off and Landing (STOL) aircraft. Mind you, this is NOT a competition… but don’t tell the aircraft (or their pilots) that!
Jon Humberd plans to fly his “Super 701” (a Zenith STOL CH 701 with a 130-hp UL Power engine) in the STOL Exhibition, as well as Jan Eggenfellner with his Viking (Honda) turbo powered STOL CH 750 Super Duty:
Herman and Amy Eshuis of Wheels & Wings will be on hand to help with the workshop at the Showcase. Wheels & Wings offers professional builder assistance to Zenith kit customers from its base in nearby Edgewater in central Florida. Whether you don’t have the space or the time or confidence to build, or if your existing project is stalled, Herman of Wheels & Wings may be able to help you. Call Herman at 386-690-4239 to discuss your project.
Zenith Aircraft president Sebastien Heintz will present an educational forum titled “Building Your Own All-Metal Airplane” where he will discuss the needed skills and tools to build a Zenith kit, as well as required budget and time.
Building the new STOL CH 750 Super Duty rudder now takes just hours instead of several days to put together, as an example of how Zenith aircraft kits have become both quicker and easier to build thanks to the advanced final hole size match drilled technology and blind riveting.
At an earlier event, Paul Bertorelli (above) of AvWeb.com built the entire rudder assembly for the new STOL CH 750 Super Duty (in just two hours) to experience first-hand how simple the kit is to assemble. Check out his video report, titled “AVweb Builds An Airplane (Part)” and watch the video as he builds the rudder and flies the Zenith STOL CH 750 Super Duty.
