NASA Announces Cassini End-of-Mission Media Activities

On Sept. 15, NASA’s Cassini spacecraft will complete its remarkable story of exploration with an intentional plunge into Saturn’s atmosphere, ending its mission after nearly 20 years in space. News briefings, photo opportunities and other media events will be held at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, and will air live on NASA Television and the agency’s website.

Canadian Army Commander attends commemoration events in France

Canadian Army Commander Lieutenant-General Paul Wynnyk and Canadian Army Sergeant-Major Alain Guimond are among the honour party for the interment of an unknown Canadian soldier who died during the First World War.  The interment took place at Canadian Cemetery No 2, at Neuville-St-Vaast, France, nearby the Vimy Memorial, on Wednesday 23 August, 2017.

A First World War soldier who could not be identified by the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) was today laid to rest with military honours at Canadian Cemetery No. 2 in Neuville-St. Vaast, France, within Canadian National Vimy Memorial Park. The Commander of the Canadian Army, Lieutenant-General Paul Wynnyk, was in attendance at the ceremony.
